Trace the adventures of a bonafide dream house from 1951 to the present. Who throws a better party: the country club president or the rock & roller? What's more comfortable: parquet floor or shag carpet? What is the house of your dreams? What is the home of your bones?
Writer/Performer Amsbary builds an American tale of ambition and hope, separation and reconciliation in this portrait of her grandparents' house. Her work has been described as "Irreverently clever and downright amazing: a must-see." (Seattle Weekly).
Current Director Cynthia White has directed across the country, including Alabama Shakespeare, Tacoma Actor’s Guild, and Goldfish Theatre. White served as Artistic Associate at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where she commissioned and directed many works. She has taught at Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Wisconsin.
Original Director Carys Kresny has created work for stages ranging from A Christmas Carol on a tabletop to Opening Day in Giants Stadium with the USC Marching Band and 59 jugglers. A few highlights of her career include directing the Flying Karamazov Brothers in L’Universe and Catch! And directing works for theatre simple, Annex Theatre, Wooden O Theatre, Northwest Shakespeare Ensemble, the Telluride Festival, Cornish College, and University of Washington.
Prayerie Girl Productions acknowledges the support of several institutions who assisted in the creation of this work: On The Boards, Mae West Fest, and the FringeACT Festival at Seattle’s ACT Theatre, funded by the ASK Foundation. |
